The Powder Springs Downtown Development Authority (DDA) is a state-authorized economic development organization comprised of community leaders, business owners, and local stakeholders. Together, we work to preserve our city's rich heritage, promote responsible development, and ensure that Downtown Powder Springs remain a dynamic destination into the future.
The DDA was established in 1981, in accordance with the Georgia Downtown Development Authority Law, and is governed by a seven-member Board of Directors. Board members are appointed by the city to four-year terms.
Under state law, the DDA has the authority to:
Purchase, own, lease, or rent property.
Receive government grants and loans.
Utilize tax revenues to support revitalization efforts.
Finance projects and manage development initiatives.
Execute contracts and manage agreements.
Issue revenue bonds to support development.
The Powder Springs DDA envisions a downtown that serves as the heart of our community — a place where history meets opportunity. We strive to create an environment that attracts businesses, encourages investment, and offers memorable experiences for residents and visitors alike.
Let's build a future that respects our history and sets the stage for generations to come.
